Pièce distinguée Nº54 is created for an exhibition, recycling the scenography of distinguished Piece Nº41, Huan Lan Hong 2011, a tin hut.

As time goes, the elements of the tin hut fall or disappear to make it more skeletal and fragile. The dancers, a little bit reptiles, a little bit insects, but not at all humans, evolve in this hut with multiple facades. Dressed in deep black velvet, their movements function graphically in contrast with the colours of this tin hut. A rudimentary installation of pipes drips continually water on the bodies of the dancers, soaking their costumes, giving rhythm to the sensation of humidity which is amplified by the sound of a strong tropical storm, an original composition by Fernando de Miguel.

Pièce distinguée Nº54 was part of the exhibition Dance First Think Later imagined by Olivier Kaeser at Le Commun in Geneva, from 21 August to 13 September 2020.
