"Walk the Bastards 2017 is composed of the eleven chairs that were not included in the installation Walk the Chair 2010. These chairs were rejected as imperfect or less interesting: some of them were lame, others were stand in, repaired, or had been inscribed with mistaken quotes. However together as a group they present a different identity, previously marginalised or ignored; together they regain a meaning that evokes life. They can be read, they can be moved around, one can sit on them and watch the world go by; but individually they should never be separated from the group, nor left abandoned alone. MOVE is number 1, it was used in the first rehearsals for positioning and testing typography and letter size. SHE USES is number 2; there was a mistake in the quote and it remained as a model of where to put the metal ring that marks where to start reading. SHE USES mark 2 is number 3, the second failed attempt to write the quote, and it lost a slat. DREAM is number 4, a public nightmare with a mistake done writing the quote. KILLED is number 5, a chair with a quote from a famous artist that somehow never fitted in and then started to wobble. STATIC is number 6 and, as the warning states, is « damaged »: treat with care. KINETICS is number 7 and has the label, Not safe for use! Be careful! TO ALL WHO CAN READ IT is number 8 and has a split up one leg. TO FOLLOW is number 9 and we have furnished it with a beautiful bandage. BAD ART is number 10 and hosts another quote from a famous artist (not included). Somebody mistreated it, burning cigarette holes into the wood. WALKING is number 11 and carries another unused quote that in this context is a metaphor for life. Errors can also be results. Bastards are children and have Mothers.  These chairs were not included but neither were they excluded, here they have found their home, WALKING. "
