Based on an idea by La Ribot, the artists of La Ribot Ensemble, Piera Bellato, Ludovico Paladini, Lisa Laurent, Mathilde Invernon, Juan Loriente and Thami Manekehla created a programme of choreographic pieces conceived specifically for Pavillon ADC. From one end of the Place Sturm and the Pavillon to the other, the artists invite spectators to take part in a physical and mental journey of surprising encounters, unexpected perspectives and clair-obscur, in the light of the summer sun until it disappears.

AngéluX in Kingston, Jamaica Juan Loriente
It's time for the Angelus / It's time to stop / To stop in everyday life / To stop in dance / An exterior form of immobility / An interior form of movement / To stop movement and breathe calm / To be alive in stillness / Quiteria and Basilio / Cervantes / Don Quixote / Marius Petipa 1869 / Lucette Aldous and Rudolf Nureyev 1973 / Sol y sombra 2023.

Ombregraphie Ludovico Paladini
A spontaneous score for sunlit bodies, an attempt to create movement that is indirect, instinctive, inspired but defined. The relationship between the body and its projection is reversed; shadow no longer follows us, it guides us.

Cuando llega la vergüenza Mathilde Invernon
What does shadow taste like? In the hollows and shadows of Pavillon ADC, as in a confessional, bodies reveal their shame.

Pièce distinguée Nº59 La Ribot
Pièce distinguée Nº59 unfolds spontaneously in natural spaces as one would find a lost jewel in a puddle of mud. Pièce distinguée Nº59 is part of an internal series of the eponymous project, in which liquid paint spills on bodies and stains them irreparably. While in the three previous pieces, colour evoked mineral or organic elements, this time Pièce distinguée Nº59 apprehends the immateriality of light.

Corofobia Piera Bellato
Corofobia puts a touch of Tarentism into the contemporary body, to explore one of the last living magical rituals, dance, the stage, in an intimate moment with the audience. It explores a heritage of forbidden dances, because they are disruptive and powerful, and because anything that threatens power is far too frightening. For the performers, too, it's a rite of passage from one stage to the next.

Kill time and it will return the favor Lisa Laurent
"If my work happens to be stimulating to audiences in their current state of development, I'm very lucky indeed; but if not, I must resign myself to abandoning my dream child." – freely adapted from The Art of making Dances (ed. Rinehart, 1959) by Doris Humphrey.

An Effort to fulfill desires Thami Manekehla
An Effort to fulfill desires proposes a deep shade space as an imaginary place of encounter between choreography, performers, and audience. Abolishing the architecture of the theatre and any visible shape, this profound darkness allows voices to become active embodiment of memories, in a suspended time.
