La Ribot Ensemble

Emerging in 2001, in Madeira Island (Portugal), Dançando com a Diferença has stood out at national and international level over the course of its 18 years of activity. Throughout its existence it developed actions for the promotion, application and dissemination of the concept of Inclusive Dance. Under the Artistic Direction of Henrique Amoedo, creator of this concept in an academic environment through his master's dissertation in the year 2002, the group has been a pioneer on the Portuguese stages, playing a significant role at European level in what concerns to the inclusion of people with and without deficiency in the artistic medium, presenting to the public projects of great quality, recognized by the public and specialized critics. Today Dançando com a Diferença is undoubtedly internationally acclaimed as one of the groups that have contributed the most for the recognition of the aesthetic and artistic abilities of companies that have in their cast people with and without disabilities. In the repertoire of Dançando com a Diferença there are 21 creations of different choreographers, among them we can find the most important contemporary creators such as, Paulo Ribeiro, Rui Horta, Clara Andermatt, Rui Lopes Graça, Tânia Carvalho and La Ribot. Sixty cities and twenty-five countries from Europe to America have had the opportunity to receive the performances, workshops, conferences and/or other actions, within the scope of the Inclusive Dance promoted by Dançando com a Diferença. Innovation and dareness, among many others, are characteristic of Contemporary Art, and consequently are present in the project of this group. The Dançando com a Diferença currently represents a strong and renowned brand in the national and international panorama thanks to the diffusion of a cultural and innovative project that takes on a different aesthetic and artistic beauty and excellence. Never acting and working in an unfounded and inconsequential way, the genesis of this group is the affirmation of a position that seeks to contribute to the modification of the social image of people with disabilities, combining this condition to the performing arts and presenting to the public as to confront it with this reality. Ludovico Paladini, né à Rome en 1998, est un danseur et performeur actif en Italie, en France et en Suisse. En 2020, il obtient un Bachelor en danse contemporaine à la Manufacture – Haute école des arts de la scène, à Lausanne. En février 2021, il joue dans A Dance Climax, de Mathilde Monnier, avec sa promo de la Manufacture. Le spectacle est présenté lors du Festival Antigel à Genève. Depuis 2020, il est interprète pour Olivia Grandville en France. Il travaille également en tant que chorégraphe avec l’AMAT et le Teatro delle Muse à Ancône, pour la production de son solo, Tales of FreeDoom, depuis décembre 2020. En septembre 2021, il joue dans L’amour de la fille et du garçon, chorégraphié par Prisca Harsch et Pascal Gravat, dans le cadre du festival de la Bâtie à Genève. Il devient danseur permanent de La Ribot Ensemble en octobre 2021. Born in Rome in 1998, Ludovico Paladini is a dancer and performer active in Italy, France, and Switzerland. In 2020 he graduated in Contemporary Dance at The Manufacture Performing Arts School in Lausanne. In February 2021, Paladini performed with his fellow graduates from The Manufacture in A Dance Climax, a show by Mathilde Monnier presented at the Antigel Festival in Geneva. Since 2020 he has been performing with Olivia Grandville in France and since December 2020, he has worked as a choreographer with AMAT and the Teatre delle Muse of Ancona in the production of his solo Tales of FreeDoom. In September 2021 he performed in L’amour de la fille et du garçon, choreographed by Prisca Harsch and Pascal Gravat, in the context of the Bâtie Festival in Geneva.

Desde 2020, actúa con Olivia Grandville en Francia. Desde diciembre de 2020, trabaja asimismo como coreógrafo con AMAT y el Teatre delle Muse de Ancona en la producción de su solo Tales of FreeDoom. En septiembre de 2021, actúa en L’amour de la fille et du garçon, coreografiada por Prisca Harsch y Pascal Gravat, en el marco del festival Bâtie de Ginebra. En octubre de 2021 se convierte en bailarín permanente de La Ribot Ensemble.

Née en 1996 à Paris, Iris Obadia réalise des études de lettres, langues et relations internationales, avant de s’orienter vers la production de spectacle vivant. Elle travaille notamment pour Le Lucernaire, le Théâtre de la Cité internationale, la compagnie Vertical Détour à Paris et l’agence artistique Artizen basée à Tel Aviv. Elle intègre le Centre national de la danse en février 2020, et contribue à l’organisation de l’édition virtuelle de Canal, un événement de mise en réseau d’artistes et d’institutions du champ chorégraphique, et de Camping 2021, festival et plateforme chorégraphique internationale. Elle rejoint La Ribot Ensemble en septembre 2021 en tant qu’assistante de production et de communication.

Née en 1996, Lisa Laurent est une danseuse française. Elle termine ses études au Ballet Junior de Genève en 2019. Pendant ses trois années de formation, elle danse de nombreuses pièces de répertoire (Jan Martens, Sharon Eyal, Thomas Hauert...) et commence à développer son travail personnel. En septembre 2020, elle présente son premier projet, Pas de deux, en collaboration avec Mattéo Trutat, aux Quarts d’Heure de Sévelin à Lausanne. Le projet est sélectionné pour l’édition 2022 de Tanzfaktor, organisée par Reso. Son deuxième projet HYPER (titre provisoire), sera présenté à Genève en novembre 2022 dans le cadre du temps fort Emergentia. Parallèlement à son travail de chorégraphe, Lisa Laurent est interprète pour Cindy Van Acker et fait partie de La Ribot Ensemble. Lisa Laurent is a French dancer born in 1996. In 2019 she completed her studies at Ballet Junior in Geneva. In the three-year period of her training she danced many repertoire pieces (Jan Martens, Sharon Eyal, Thomas Hauert) and began to develop her own personal work. In September 2020 Laurent presented her first project, Pas de deux, in collaboration with Mattéo Trutat, at the Quarts d’Heure of Théâtre Sévelin in Lausanne. The project was selected for Tanzfaktor2022, organized by Reso. Her second project, HYPER (provisional title), is due to be premiered in November 2022 in Geneva as a focus piece at the Emergentia Festival. Apart from her work as a choreographer, Lisa Laurent is also a performer for Cindy Van Acker and a member of La Ribot Ensemble. Nacida en 1996, Lisa Laurent es una bailarina francesa. Durante sus tres años de formación baila numerosas piezas de repertorio (Jan Martens, Sharon Eyal, Thomas Hauert) y comienza a desarrollar su obra personal. En septiembre de 2020 presenta su primer proyecto, Pas de deux, en colaboración con Mattéo Trutat, en los Quarts d’Heure del teatro Sévelin de Lausana. El proyecto es seleccionado para la edición 2022 de Tanzfaktor, organizado por Reso. Su segundo proyecto, HYPER (título provisional), se presentará en Ginebra en noviembre de 2022 como parte destacada del festival Emergentia. Además de su trabajo como coreógrafa, Lisa Laurent es intérprete de Cindy Van Acker y forma parte de La Ribot Ensemble.

Mathilde Invernon est une comédienne et danseuse franco-espagnole. Après avoir étudié la danse et le théâtre au conservatoire à Paris, elle obtient en 2019 un Bachelor en théâtre à La Manufacture – Haute école des arts de la scène, à Lausanne. Elle est interprète pour des productions théâtrales, performatives et cinématographiques. Elle est à l’initiative de créations performatives telles que El Intruso, jouée au LUFF, à la Gaîté Lyrique et à Alte Munze à Berlin, et plus récemment Let’s Pretend pour le Théâtre Sévelin 36. Elle met en scène et écrit The Bath qui sera joué au TLH à Sierre et au Théâtre du Crochetan. Elle danse dans les dernières créations de La Ribot, Pièce distinguée No54 au Commun, à Genève, dans le cadre de Dance First Think Later, et Distinguished Anyways, joué à La Real Academia d’España en Roma. Elle poursuit cette collaboration à partir d’octobre 2021, en tant qu’interprète permanente de La Ribot Ensemble. Mathilde Invernon is a French-Spanish actor and dancer. Aude Martino a commencé́ son parcours professionnel au Centre national de la danse à Pantin en 2010 au sein du Département Création, Production et Activités Internationales. À partir de 2015, elle travaille sur la création et la production de Camping, festival et plateforme chorégraphique internationale. Après la coordination des cinq éditions, elle contribue au développement international du projet et organise en collaboration avec le Taipei Performing Arts Center la première édition de Camping Asia, à Taipei, en novembre 2019. Elle débute sa collaboration avec La Ribot en novembre 2020, en tant que directrice de production. Aude Martino est diplômée de l’EAC, l’un des principaux établissements d’enseignement supérieur dans les domaines de la culture, du marché de l’art, du patrimoine et du luxe.

Asier Puga consacre une grande partie de sa carrière de chef d’orchestre à faire dialoguer le répertoire classique et la musique contemporaine. Ses programmes sont de grands laboratoires d’idées dans lesquels la tradition entre en contact avec de nouvelles formes d’expression pluridisciplinaires, plaçant chaque œuvre dans le contexte de la tension de l’histoire. Il est le chef d’orchestre et le directeur artistique de l’Orchestre de chambre de l’Auditorium de Saragosse, également connu sous le nom de Grupo Enigma. 

Diplômée en littérature française et sociologie du genre, Marie Prédour se forme en technique du spectacle vivant et de l’évènementiel au Grim’Edif (Lyon,FR). Elle est proche collaboratrice et directrice technique de La Ribot depuis 2011 ainsi que de Simone Aughterlony depuis 2016, et a travaillé avec les artistes Gilles Jobin, Ruth Childs, Eric Linder, l’association Shap Shap ainsi qu’aux côtés d’éclairagistes de renom (Eric Wurtz, Daniel Demont) dont elle reprend régulièrement les lumières en tournée. Elle crée les lumières de certaines pièces de Gilles Jobin, Thabiso Pule et Thami Hector Manekehla, Kaïsha Essiane, Jacques Houssay, ainsi que des concerts de Mataharie et Scarlett’s Fall. Depuis 2021 elle participe au projet collectif Imbricated Real initié à Zürich par Marc Streit et Simone Aughterlony. Elle enseigne ponctuellement au Grim’Edif sur la formation de régie générale. Marie a pour objectif de partager une vision de la direction technique qui ne parle pas uniquement d’outils pratiques et de méthodologie mais aussi de l’importance de comprendre les concepts et de s’engager dans le processus de création d’un projet artistique, pour le porter techniquement avec justesse. Elle est également co-fondatrice en 2019 de l’association LUEUR (Annecy, FR) qui souhaite visibiliser les artistes issu·es des minorités en proposant des espaces alternatifs de fête et de rencontres artistiques.

Après un Master en Relations internationales à l’Université de Genève, Piera Bellato obtient son diplôme de comédienne à la Manufacture en 2013. Elle travaille ensuite pour différents artistes tels que Lucile Carré, José Lillo, Eric Salama, Stéphanie Blanchoud, Nina Negri, les 3 Points de suspension, Vincent Coppey, Isis Fahmy... Elle consacre aussi beaucoup de temps à des projets de recherche autour de la pensée au plateau, notamment avec l’un de ses collectifs, le Third Floor Group. Après avoir été artiste associée de l’Abri en 2019-2020, son propre projet, un hybride entre danse et théâtre intitulé Merci pour cette danse, sera présenté les saisons prochaines à l’Usine à gaz et au Théâtre du Loup. Depuis 2020, elle accompagne La Ribot, notamment dans deux projets, Pièce Distinguée No54 au Commun à Genève dans le cadre de Dance First Think Later, et Distinguished Anyways pour La Real Academia d’España en Roma. En octobre 2021, elle rejoint La Ribot Ensemble en tant qu’interprète permanente. After obtaining an MA in International Relations, Piera Bellato went on to graduate from The Manufacture Performing Arts School in Lausanne in 2013. She then worked for several artists, Lucile Carré, José Lillo, Eric Salama, Stéphanie Blanchoud, Eric Salama, Nina Negri, Les 3 Points de suspension, Vincent Coppey and Isis Fahmy, among others. She also dedicates much of her time to research projects around performance, particularly with one of her collectives, Third Floor Group. She followed a stint as associated artist at L’Abri in 2019-2020, with her own project, Merci pour cette danse, fusing dance and theatre, presented at Usine à gaz in Nyon and Théâtre du Loup in Geneva. Since 2020, she has been working with La Ribot, particularly in two projects, Pièce distinguée No54, at Le Commun cultural space in Geneva, as part of the Dance First Think Later exhibition-festival; and Distinguished Anyways, for the Real Academia de España in Rome. In October 2021 Bellato joined La Ribot Ensemble as a permanent dancer. Tras cursar un Máster en Relaciones Internacionales en la Universidad de Ginebra, Piera Bellato obtiene su titulación

Thami Manekehla est un danseur et chorégraphe d’Afrique du Sud. Il est à l’origine du projet Statement Art et co-dirige le projet Nyakaza S.P.A.C.E à Soweto depuis 2012. Thami Manekehla a reçu plusieurs bourses chorégraphiques, il a remporté le prix du festival de l’Afrique Danse en 2008. En 2016, il participe en tant que co-créateur et interprète à la pièce de Ligia Lewis, Minor Matter. La pièce remporte plusieurs prix et est jouée dans de nombreux théâtres et festivals dans le monde entier entre 2016 et 2019. En 2016, il forme avec La Ribot et Juan Loriente le trio d’interprètes d’Another Distinguée, cinquième série du projet des Pièces distinguées de La Ribot. Thami Manekehla is a South Africa-born dancer and choreographer. He is the driving force behind the Statement Art project and co- director of Nyakaza SPACE in Soweto since 2012. He has benefited from several choreography scholarships and in 2008 won the Africa Dance Festival Prize. In 2016 he took part as co-creator and performer in the production of Ligia Lewis, Minor Matter, which won many distinctions and was staged in theatres and festivals worldwide from 2016 through 2019. In 2016 he was, together with La Ribot and Juan Loriente, a member of the trio of performers in Another Distinguée, the fifth series of the distinguished Pieces project by La Ribot. Jaime Conde-Salazar Pérez est diplômé en géographie et en histoire, avec une spécialisation en histoire de l’art (Universidad Complutense de Madrid). Il a obtenu un MA en Performance studies (Université de New York) en 2002 grâce à une bourse MEC- Fulbright. En 2003, il a obtenu le Diploma de Estudios Avanzados avec le travail de recherche intitulé Narraciones de la modernidad en la Historia de la Danza (Narrations de la modernité dans l’histoire de la danse), dirigé par Estrella de Diego. Il a collaboré en tant que critique de danse à des revues telles que Por la Danza (Madrid), SuzyQ (Madrid), Ballet/Tanz (Berlin), Mouvement (Paris), Hystrio (Rome) et Obscena (Lisbonne). Entre 2003 et 2006, il a été directeur de l’Aula de Danza Estrella Casero à l’Université d’Alcalá. Et de 2006 à 2008, il a été directeur-gérant de l’école maternelle Waldorf “El Moral” (La Laguna, Tenerife). Il a été boursier de l’Académie royale d’Espagne à Rome de 2009 à 2010. Massimiliano Simbula is a free-lance Contemporary Media advisor. In the last 25 years he has been working internationally in many ground-breaking projects with a specific focus on Contemporary Art, Indie Cinema and Contemporary dance. Its knowledge is axed on graphical technologic development in the fields of AR, VR, 3D, and other innovative visual practices. The expertise in those fields has been established and applied during the years in numerous creative collaborations with international renamed artists the likes of Pier Paolo Calzolari, Alain Fleischer, Andre S. Labarthe, Jean Nouvel, Hans Op de Beeck, La Ribot, Bethan Huws, Jean-Jacques Lebel, Antoni Abad, Patrick Jouin, Gérard Collin-Thiébaut, Tatiana Trouvé, Joana Hadjithomas et Khalil Joreige, Yann Kersale, Joan Fontcuberta, Kurt Hentschlager, Scanner, Sioned Huws, Zhen Chen Liu. The resulting works have been shown and won many awards in events the likes of Cannes Film Festival, Academy Awards, Rotterdam Film Festival, Berlinale Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Clermont Ferrand Festival, Ars Electronica Linz, Loop Barcelona, Art Basel, Venice Biennale, Kunst Festival des Arts, Festival Roma Europa, Fabbrica Europa Florence, Festival d’Automne in Paris. Massimiliano is involved and regularly collaborates with several education and research institutions such as Le Fresnoy Lille, Villa Arson Nice, Head Geneva, Villa Medici Roma and ENSBA Lyon.

Licenciada en Filología Hispánica por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1985), comienza a trabajar en una compañía de teatro independiente al mismo tiempo que inicia los estudios universitarios. Desde entonces, ha acumulado una amplia experiencia en el terreno de la gestión de las artes escénicas contemporáneas, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Desde 1995, compagina la actividad profesional con la crianza y educación de dos hijos. Ha estado vinculada, como Directora de producción o Directora adjunta, a estructuras como el Centro Nacional de Nuevas Tendencias Escénicas (Madrid, 1986-1990) , el Teatro Central (Sevilla, 1991-93), el Centro Andaluz de Teatro (Sevilla, 1993-95) o el Teatro de La Abadía (Madrid, 1995-96), así como a proyectos culturales de gran envergadura como la Exposición Universal de 1992 en Sevilla, Salamanca 2002 o Biennale Teatro (Venecia, 2013-16). Ha sido comisaria de Mercartes (2006) y de Spanish Folias (2007), programa específico dedicado a la creación contemporánea española en Utrecht.
Cuenta con una dilatada experiencia en la gestión de festivales, habiéndose iniciado con la organización del Encuentro Internacional de Teatro en la Calle para la Concejalía de Cultura-Ayuntamiento de Madrid (1982-1986). Más tarde, como directora artística del Festival V.E.O. (Valencia, 2003-2006), Escena Contemporánea (Madrid, 2008-2009) y el IDEM-Festival Internacional de Artes Escénicas e Inclusión Social en La Casa Encendida (Madrid, 2013-2018). En 2008 fundó y dirigió la M.I.T. (Mesa Itinerante de Trabajo, proyecto de investigación- observatorio del sector de las artes escénicas contemporáneas en España) y así como las Jornadas sobre Inclusión Social y Educación en las Artes Escénicas, de cuya comisión ha formado parte desde su origen hasta 2019. Fue fundadora y miembro del consejo de administración de IRIS, Asociación Sudeuropea para la creación contemporánea (España, Francia, Italia, Portugal, 2004-06). En el ámbito público, fue Jefa de Gabinete del INAEM-Ministerio de Cultura (Madrid, 2009-12), además de trabajar habitualmente como asesora o miembro de diversas comisiones para instituciones culturales a nivel local, estatal, autonómico e internacional. Desde noviembre de 2019 es consejera del Consejo de la Danza, dentro del Consejo Estatal de las Artes Escénicas y de la Música. Ha participado como miembro del jurado en numerosos premios vinculados a la danza y la creación contemporánea, así como en mesas redondas, conferencias y cursos dedicados a la gestión cultural y a las artes escénicas contemporáneas, comunitarias o inclusivas, tanto en foros internacionales como por todo el Estado. En el sector privado, formó parte del equipo de Producciones Teatrales Contemporáneas (1996-2000), además de haber trabajado en proyectos puntuales con otras empresas privadas. En 2012 creó su propia firma, Magale Prods., con la que ha llevado a cabo diversos trabajos de acompañamiento artístico. Desde 2017 es Productora Ejecutiva de la compañía de La Ribot. Almudena Ribot est professeure titulaire à l’ETSAM, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid UPM, et responsable de l’unité CoLab. Ses intérêts portent sur trois domaines connexes: l’industrialisation, la personnalisation et la durabilité. Sur le plan professionnel, cela signifie que la systématisation et la construction sont des langages qu’elle emploie dans la réalisation de projets, et l’utilisation de systèmes personnalisables, comme dans “Cuatro50, un système de logement industrialisé”. Du point de vue pédagogique, cela se traduit par l’utilisation de processus collaboratifs. En 2009, elle a fondé et codirigé le groupe “CoLaboratorio : Industrialisation, Prototypage et Collaboration” et, depuis lors, elle enseigne et fait des recherches dans ce sens. Almudena Ribot is Senior Lecturer in Projects at ETSAM, UPM (Madrid Polytechnic University) and runs Unidad CoLab. Her interests are focused on three interrelated fields: industrialisation, personalisation, and sustainability. Professionally speaking, this involves a systematisation and construction of the project as a language and the use of bespoke systems. That is the case of the “Cuatro50 Industrialised Housing System”. From the viewpoint of pedagogy, this implies the use of collaborative processes. In 2009 she founded and codirected the “CoLaboratorio: Industrialization, Prototyping and Collaboration group”, and has been teaching and researching in that field since then. En 2009 funda y codirige el grupo «CoLaboratorio: Industrialización, Prototipado y Colaboración» y, desde entonces, enseña e investiga en esa línea.
